Developing a Plan for Future Trail Connections
About our Project
We are creating a plan to connect east Lexington to downtown with a walkable and bike-friendly route. Our goal is to link the Brighton Trail in Hamburg to the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden Trailhead in downtown Lexington, where the Town Branch and Legacy Trails meet.

This study continues the city's efforts to create a trail network across Lexington. Safe and comfortable options for bicycling and walking help ease congestion, enhance public health, support local business, and improve our air.

Study Goals
Identify.
Identify improvements needed to complete existing gaps between the Brighton Trail and downtown.
Coordinate.
Coordinate project timing and trail design across several improvement projects that are planned within the study area.
Create.
Create a safe and comfortable trail for residents that connects neighborhoods, businesses, parks and other destinations.
